We love baptisms at Crossroads! Seeing people publicly declare their love and commitment to Jesus is one of our favorite things so we celebrate them whenever we have them. We do baptisms once a quarter.
What Does Baptism Mean?
Getting baptized is an important first step for a Christian. It doesn’t save you. It’s just an outward symbol of the inner commitment to Jesus and a great way to show that love and commitment to Him to friends and family.
Crossroads Church believes that the Biblical model of baptism is performed through immersion. (Matthew 3:16)
Who Can Get Baptized?
Every person who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! Because of this, we don’t baptize children until they are old enough to understand and believe. (Acts 2:38)
Why Should I Get Baptized?
Because you want to follow the example set by Christ. (Mark 1:9)
Because Christ commands it. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Because it shows that you are a believer. (Acts 18:8)
Can I Be Baptized Twice?
You can if you’d like, but it’s not necessary even if you’re renewing your commitment to Jesus. The only time we really encourage it is if you were baptized as an infant or small child before you were really able to make that decision on your own.
