God designed you to serve in an area based on your passions, gifts, and talents and we want to help you find that place.
When you serve in the area God designed for you, it’s both rewarding to you and beneficial to those you serve. But don’t take our word for it. Here’s one our volunteers, Jo Ann, talking about what serving means to her.
We have some opportunities for you to serve and find your sweet spot. If you don’t know where your sweet spot is just yet, that’s okay! Some of our most fulfilled volunteers will tell you that they’ve bounced around a bit before finding the place God made them to serve.
First Impressions
You only get one chance at a first impression, so if you want to help us make people feel the love of Jesus when they get to Crossroads, this is the spot for you!
GREETERS
Greet and welcome guests and regular attendees on Sundays.
STREET WAIVERS & SIGN HOLDERS
Hold welcome signs, wave to, and greet cars as they drive by and enter our parking lot.
USHERS
Greet and welcome attendees, hand out bulletins and assist with seating.
COMMUNION SERVER
Serve the communion elements on Communion Sundays.
CAFÉ
Help set up and clean up the cafe, and serve beverages and donuts.
KIDS CHECK-IN
Welcome attendees, help new families register for children’s services and assist with kids’ check-ins.
GUEST SERVICES
Welcome and assist guests with general questions and inquiries.
Operations
If you want to help with the necessary things to keep Sunday mornings church running smoothly behind the scenes, operations may be the spot for you.
PARKING
Set up and take down the parking lot cones and signs. Welcome and guide guests and regular attendees to parking spots.
SHUTTLE DRIVER
Safely operate the shuttle while welcoming guests and transporting passengers.
SAFETY
Help provide a safe environment on Sundays and for special events.
MEDICAL RESPONSE
Assist with medical emergencies on Sundays. Paramedic or EMT training preferred.
FACILITIES
Assist during the week with projects, repairs and maintenance.
EVENT SETUP
Setup and arrange church furniture (midweek) for services, events and classes.
Worship Arts & Media
As worship leaders, we get to minister to people through music, prepare them for the message, and glorify the Lord through art. If you want to help us do that, join our team!
WORSHIP TEAM
Sing or play (or both!) in the weekend services and for special occasions (audition required). *Both services required.
PRODUCTION/TECH TEAM
Run the cameras, lyrics, lighting, or sound on weekend services and for special occasions. *Both services required.
LIVE STREAMING CHAT HOST
Greet attenders in the online chat, answer questions and share helpful links and resources.
PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER
Help build the photo and video library from weekend services and church events. Assist posting and managing our social media content.
Kids Ministry
Crossroads Kids’ mission is to partner with parents and families to disciple children as they grow in relationship with Jesus so they become fully devoted followers of Christ. (Background check required for adults.)
BIRTH – 3 YEARS
Help maintain a safe and fun environment for tiny ones to learn that God made them and loves them through Bible stories, worship, prayer and play.
4 YEARS – KINDERGARTEN
Start creating foundations of knowledge by teaching Bible stories, worshiping with the kids and sharing about Jesus’ life. Crafts and activities allow space for kids to start establishing their community.
1st – 3rd GRADE
Build upon existing knowledge and learn more about how God wants us to live as Jesus followers. More interactive discussions and activities allow kids to share openly and grow deeper in their relationships with God and each other.
4th – 5th GRADE
Encourage kids in their personal walk with Jesus through Bible stories and extensive discussion time. Help them answer deeper questions about how to understand the world and serve God with their lives.
VOLUNTEER CHILDCARE TEAM
Help support families seeking Christ by providing childcare for midweek classes, life groups and special events. Deep discipleship takes place more than just on Sunday mornings.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Assist in creating a safe environment for kids with varying needs to learn about Jesus as their parents are poured into. By supporting kids with special needs, we are removing boundaries that keep families isolated from the church.
Roots Student Ministry
Help our students establish strong roots in their relationship with Jesus, as we lead them to an authentic, life-changing relationship with Jesus. (Background check required for adults.)
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL LIFE GROUP LEADERS
Be a leader for the Sunday night life groups and programs for 6th – 12th grades.
STUDENT MINISTRY WORSHIP TEAM
Be a part of the platform (on stage) or production (sound and media) teams for Sunday night services.
Prayer
If you like to lift people up to the Lord through prayer, encouragement, or care, this is the team for you.
*Interview process and Membership required for the below prayer teams.
AFTER SERVICE PRAYER TEAM
Pray with people after service.
CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER TEAM
Pray for the weekly needs submitted by the congregation on your own time.
PRAY FOR PASTORS, STAFF & LEADERS
We’re instructed in Scripture to come alongside our leaders and labor with them through prayer (2 Timothy 2:1-2 and Exodus 17:12). Choose one day each week on your own time to pray for the leaders. The team also meets together a few times during the year to pray together.
Office
If you’d rather help out behind the scenes with the day-to-day logistics of keeping the church running after the mission God has given us, this is the team for you!
OFFICE
Assist midweek with miscellaneous office needs, laminating, cutting, special projects, communion element prep, shredding, data entry, etc.
Outreach
Be a part of what Jesus is doing through Crossroads in the community and around the world!
FOOD PANTRY
Be a part of providing food to those in need each Thursday evening here at the church.
Mentor Ministry
Mentoring is an opportunity to build meaningful, Christ-centered relationships that encourage spiritual growth, wisdom, and support through every season of life. Through one-on-one mentoring, you’ll have space to grow, ask questions, be encouraged, and not feel like you have to figure everything out on your own. This is a powerful way to live out your faith in a real and lasting way.
MENTOR
A mentor is someone who shows up and walks alongside another person in their faith journey, offering encouragement, wisdom and support. Mentors listen well, share from their own experiences and help others grow spiritually through prayer, Scripture and intentional conversation. Mentors help create a safe space for growth, accountability and a deeper connection with Jesus and their purpose.
